Since 2016 we have been working with Automated Guided Vehicles (abbr.: AGV, in German: FTS) used in internal logistics and production. AGVs enable transport of different parts and goods, which support automated transport processes within a company. This helps the reduction of human resources and also provides plenty of process optimization opportunities. Considering its operational method several solutions exist on the market.

Automated guided vehicles are not the most modern technologies. Since the mid XX. century optical and magnetic line follower AGVs have been applied in internal logistics and production. In the last few years we may have been part of a rapid development, AGVs equipped with freely programmable navigation have been getting more popular. AGVs with laser sensors are such examples, which enable a much more flexible and complex system application. With the embedded safety sensors, they can transport among humans and other vehicles, and are also able to cooperate with them. AGVs with so-called SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) navigation technology are usually called AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robot).
